'Miss F.A.T.' and American Idol Contestant Joanne Borgella Dies at 32 years from Cancer: Catch all the Details Here
Miss F.A.T. Joanne Borgella died at the tender age of 32 years on Saturday. She was suffering from endometrial cancer since 2013. The news was confirmed by her family in a post on the popular social networking site Facebook. Her family also said in a post that the fans can pay their condolences on her official fan page, according to Capital Wired.
In her last post prior to succumbing to the disease, the singer was all upbeat despite the fact that the disease had spread to the vital organs in her chest. She had written that she was planning to follow the doctor's advice of taking some more radiation therapy to target the cancer-cells. Even though she was in so much pain, her faith in God was unshakeable. On her last post on Facebook, she shared some motivational quotes about her undying faith in God.
The American Idol contestant appeared on the 7th season of the show and stole everyone's hearts with her soulful and melodious voice. Unfortunately she did not win the show, despite the fact that she was one of the top 24 performers on the seventh installment of the popular music show. Her last performance on the show was for the song - "I Say A Little Prayer."
After her American Idol stint, she appeared a few years later on another reality show - "Mo'Nique's Fat Chance." where she went on to win the title of 'Miss F.A.T.'. The plus-sized model also appeared on the show "Curvy Girls" as a cast member. The determined New-York born Joanne was upbeat with her success as 'Miss F.A.T.' that she decided to become a designer and even went on to launch her own line of some stylish and impeccable clothes.
The noted musical director of the landmark show "American Idol" - Michael Orland was shocked to learn about the death and he took to Twitter to air his condolences His tweet read, "So sorry to read about the passing of @JoanneBorgella. She was one of those special people that came through the @AmericanIdol doors. RIP."
