Jean Watson Preps the Release of New Album "Overcome"

After her highly successful Christmas album released in the Fall of 2014, classically trained violinist and singer Jean Watson will be back with her brand new album "Overcome." Watson aims to release "Overcome" in the Summer of 2015 release. The album promises to be her most personal album to date.
Fans of the multi-talented recording artist can look forward to an abundance of Celtic-infused violin, Watson's signature haunting vocals, and the special treat of stellar guitar work from master guitarist Phil Keaggy.
"I chose Overcome as the title of my new CD because it truly reflects the joyful place I'm in right now in life," Watson explains. "The songs on this project speak of overcoming through the power of God's love. The arrangements are energetic and fresh, and Phil Keaggy's guitar playing is simply amazing! I hope this new music is as encouraging and fun to listen to as it was for me to make!"
Watson says the songs on Overcome are infused with universal themes of joy and faith. "These songs are fresh, upbeat and joyful," she says, "and while they all have universal, faith-based themes, they are easily accessible and understandable by both believers and non-believers alike."
In addition to Keaggy's virtuoso guitar work, Overcome boasts production by Nashville legend Grammy and Dove Award winner Billy Smiley (WhiteHeart, Newsboys, Margaret Becker), and features stellar musicianship from bassist Anthony Sallee (White Heart, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant) and drummer Steve Brewster (Trace Adkins, Kenny Rogers, Gaither Vocal Band). Watson, of course, contributes both vocals and violin to the project. Musically, the album employs rich, emotive arrangements which, when combined with Watson's fragile yet resilient vocals, is reminiscent of such world music artists as Enya, Maire Brennan, Clannad and Kristen Getty.
