Jan Crouch, the Co-founder of Trinity Broadcasting Network, Dies

Jan Crouch, the co-founder of Trinity Broadcasting Network, has passed away. She was 78 years of age. Crouch had been in the hospital after suffering a massive stroke last week, and she has died last week. Crouch founded TBN with her late husband Paul Crouch in 1973. Later, the network went on to become the world's largest Christian-owned cable station.
Her husband, who was the son of Assemblies of God missionaries, was found dead at the age 79 in November 2013. Crouch Sr. had been treated for chronic heart problems for over a decade and had received a pacemaker in 2012. Two years earlier in September 2011, Crouch was also hospitalized for congestive heart failure. It was during this time that Crouch allegedly wrote a letter identifying that he wanted his son Matthew Crouch to take over the position of president of TBN.
"Jan Crouch loved many things, but most of all she loved Jesus, and now has seen Him face to face and has experienced His grace in fullness," the family said Tuesday. "She has taken a piece of our hearts with her, but it's so wonderful to know that Paul and Jan Crouch are together again, in the arms of Jesus."
Tributes to Crouch has already been flooding in. "Today Jan Crouch enters heaven as @HillsongChannel commences tomorrow. It's only possible because of her legacy," tweeted Brian Houston, senior pastor of the influential Hillsong Church that started in Australia but now as campuses around the world.
Meanwhile, Grammy Award-winning American gospel singer Donnie McClurkin tweeted, "My heart is broken in several different ways. MY dear FRIEND..JAN CROUCH has passed away. PRAY for the crouch family."
Fellow Grammy winning singer-songwriter Israel Houghton tweeted, "My deepest condolences to the @TBN & Crouch family. I knew Momma Jan for 25 years. She was always kind to me."
Meanwhile Pastor Ron Carpenter of Redemption World Outreach Center in Greenville, South Carolina, wrote on Twitter, "Paul and Jan Crouch invited me into the TBN family 2009..that microphone changed my life forever. I'm saddened by her passing. #legacy"
Crouch's family announced her death early on Tuesday, with son Matthew writing:"Laurie and I have just watched the transition of our precious Mother from this world to the next; watched her step into the presence of Jesus and into her heavenly reward."
The family statement added: "Jan Crouch, known around the world as Momma Jan, has gone home."
