Bruce Springsteen Has Released 1978 Concert For MusiCares Hurricane Relief Fund

Great news for Bruce Springsteen fans! The musician has released a 1978 Houston concert with the E Street Band and its' proceeds will be benefiting the MusiCares Hurricane Relief Fund. This audio-only release is the second release for this show which originally was part of the DVD on The Promise: Darkness on the Edge of Town box set.
The Houston show itself was a part of the Darkness on the Edge of Town tour which is considered to be one of Springsteen's best live shows. Included in the set are songs from his early Columbia albums including "It's Hard to Be a Saint in the City", and "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)", "Tenth Avenue Freezeout" and "Born to Run". Also included, a number of covers and seven songs from the Darkness album.
"Fans had been asking for a stand-alone audio release of Houston '78 since the Darkness box set came out several years ago. Its release-ready availability gave us the opportunity to move quickly to support people in Texas and Florida." Nugs.net CEO Brad Serling explained when asked about the timing of this release.
Houston '78 is available now as MP3 and hi-res downloads including audiophile grade MQA, or as a 2 CD set. It's just another great example of an artist finding a productive and appealing way to help those in need after the recent hurricane damage that has decimated parts of the southern U.S. The audio version of Darkness on the Edge of Town can be purchased at Springsteen's site.
