Legendary Guitarist James Burton is Cancer Free: "Your Prayers Were Heard by God"

James Burton, who is the guitarist for iconic artists such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, announces that he is cancer free. For the past few moths, Burton had been battling kidney cancer. He is quick to thank God and the prayers of his fans for the healing.
"The Cancer Doctor at Vanderbilt just told me that I AM CANCER FREE! I will need an MRI test every 3 months and I still have a long road to recovery but YOUR PRAYERS we're heard by GOD. Thank You all & GOD BLESS YOU."
Burton first revealed his diagnosis in a post on Sept. 30, asking for prayers as he prepared for surgery. "I have been diagnosed with kidney cancer and I am scheduled for an operation Monday Oct. 3rd at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville," he stated. "Even though I have a great team of doctors, I know God is in control. I would personally appreciate your prayers for a total healing." Burton underwent surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville on Oct. 3.
Burton is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since 2001. He been recognized by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame and the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. He is also ranked number 19 in Rolling Stone list of 100 Greatest Guitarists.
Since the 1950s, Burton has recorded and performed with an array of singers, including Bob Luman, Dale Hawkins, Ricky Nelson, Elvis Presley (and was leader of Presley's TCB Band), The Everly Brothers, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Glen Campbell, John Denver, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, Judy Collins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Claude King, Elvis Costello, Joe Osborn, Roy Orbison, Joni Mitchell, Hoyt Axton, Townes Van Zandt, Steve Young, Vince Gill, and Suzi Quatro.
