Powerhouse Fellowship Soul Choir Featuring Shawn Cotterell Release Single and Video "God is Good"

The Powerhouse Fellowship Soul Choir, featuring Shawn Cotterell, has a new single, "God Is Good." This is the first single from Powerhouse Fellowship's forthcoming album, REFLECTIONS. The new single is released on Impact Gospel Recordings, exclusively distributed by IndieBlu Music, a division of MNRK Nashville.
"God is Good" is written by Shawn Cotterell under the production helm of Hezekiah Walker and Love Fellowship Choir's musical director Jules Bartholomew. Jules anchored the track in the classic Brooklyn bounce feel and sound signature of New York area choirs. "I gave the song the sound that I grew up on, and I wanted to reflect that influence on this release," says Jules.
Shawn and Powerhouse have also released the official music video for "God Is Good." The video was filmed in key areas of Toronto and the suburbs of Scarborough, where the choir was formed. Powerhouse, known then as the Scarborough Church Youth Choir, started in 1986 as a children's choir. The choir developed and changed its name to the Powerhouse Fellowship Soul Choir.
Cinematographer Jared Marino and Cotterell's film production company, Creative Soul Entertainment, handled the direction of the music video.
"Our new music video is a musical love letter and visual Thank You to the city of Toronto that highlights the city of Scarborough," Cotterell says. "The presentation also honors the legacies of some of the original Powerhouse members and individuals who have made a positive impact on me and my choir throughout the years. We honor their influence and contributions to the Gospel community in Toronto, which has been overlooked."
Honorees include Bishop Hubert. L Martin and sister Bonnie Martin of West End Church of God of Prophecy, Pastor Jasper Nelson and sister Erma Nelson pastors of the Scarborough Church of God of Prophecy (the birthplace of the Powerhouse Fellowship Soul Choir), the late Bishop Dr. Audley James, founder and Senior Pastor of Revivaltime Tabernacle World Wide Ministries, Marcella Freeman, Director of Children's Ministries - Church of God of Prophecy Canada, and the late Amoy Levy, renowned soloist and former leader of the Youth Outreach Mass Choir.
