Micah Tyler Asks Fans to Pray for His Sick Brother Daniel

Christian music singer and songwriter Micah Tyler is requesting for prayers as his brother, Daniel, has been battling cancer off and on for the last seven years. Due to some unforeseen complications, Daniel has been in the hospital the past few days battling a blockage in his colon that is causing a lot of pain and other difficulties on top of his ongoing cancer issues.
Tyler writes, "Our family would really appreciate your prayers for Daniel to find some healing and relief, for his wife Hannah & their 2 kiddos, and for the doctors and nurses as they navigate all of this. So grateful for the years of prayer and support from so many of you around the world. It means something to me every time someone asks about Daniel (which is often) and I know I can count on y'all to lift him up right now."
He later updates, "On Sunday afternoon, I arrived at MD Anderson after nearly a week of stomach pain. They admitted me that night, and Monday they began scans and tests. It was discovered that I had a blockage in my large intestine. It was hoped that a few days of bowel rest would help move things along, but on Tuesday things took a turn. I began bloating, backing up, and was in an incredible amount of pain. Those days were filled with morphine, so I was not very responsive or able to check my phone. On Wednesday, they started a NG tube. Since then, they've drained over 20 pounds of fluid out of me.
We've met with tons of surgeons, oncologists, specialists, and everyone else. It has been decided that the best course of action moving forward is a G Tube placement. The plan will be to place this tube in my stomach. Other surgeries (like an ostomy) would be too tricky. They feel like this route will help ease the pain I've been in, and help transition to a new normal. The plan is to hopefully have the procedure Monday morning and me go home Tuesday. We don't know a ton about what is to come after that, but we are trusting that Jesus has walked us through this past week just like He has these last 6 years."
Tyler is a singer, songwriter and worship leader from Buna, Texas. Following two independent releases, he debuted the EP Different (2016) and the LP of the same name under Fair Trade Services. With three No. 1 radio hits to his name, Tyler has numerous other achievements such as a GMA Dove Awards New Artist of the Year nominee (and two other GMA Dove Award nods), is a K-LOVE Fan Awards Breakout Single nominee, has two BMI song awards, and was GMA's Immerse Conference Male Vocalist of the Year (2012). He has toured with MercyMe, Crowder, Jeremy Camp, Phil Wickham, We Are Messengers, Big Daddy Weave, and more.
After having served as a youth pastor for over a decade, Micah Tyler has a true love and respect for the local church. To find out more, please visit MicahTyler.com.
