Lloyd Nicks, Co-Writer of CeCe Winans’ “That’s My King," Signs with Curb Records

Curb Records is excited to welcome GRAMMY® Award-winner Lloyd Nicks to their roster of artists. A co-writer on Cece Winans' "That's My King," Nicks has celebrated the song winning a GRAMMY®, a Billboard Music Award, and a BMI Award.
"Family speaks to the reason why I chose to enter this relationship with the Curb Records team," shares Nicks. "That's at the center of who I am and who they've shown themselves to be for the past four years that I've known them. I'm excited about the songs that we'll be sharing with people from all walks of life and seeing how Jesus can move through them in all of our common experiences."
Growing up in a tumultuous household in St. Louis, MO, Nicks started attending church with his uncle at 14 years old. Hearing the gospel for the first time, he was reborn from his brokenness, experiencing a fresh harmony in his newfound faith. After attending Greenville University for Classic Vocal Performance and Business Management, and teaching music at a local high school, Nicks began writing songs of hope and conviction, highlighting God's love and the individual journey everyone takes when walking in faith.
Later co-writing the GRAMMY® and Billboard Music Award-winning #1 hit, "That's My King," performed by Cece Winans, Nicks' gift of storytelling was on display. Sitting at #1 on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart for 49 consecutive weeks, "That's My King" has won the BMI Gospel Trailblazers Award, Top Gospel Song at the Billboard Music Awards, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song at the GRAMMY® Awards. "That's My King" was also nominated for Song of the Year and Praise & Worship Song of the Year at the Stellar Awards, as well as Gospel Worship Recorded Song of the Year at the Dove Awards.
An active member and worship leader at his home church, The Crossing in St. Louis, Nicks' music is a sounding board to his listeners, offering an honest soundtrack to everyday experiences as a person of faith. Highlighting God's love, Nicks' Common Ground Initiative demonstrates his commitment to raising up the creative economy through collaboration and partnership in local communities across the US.
