iOS 8 Release date for iPhone 4, iPhone 5 and iPod 5: All The Details
What happens when innovators work on the best operating system built for phones to support outstanding hardware from Apple? You get the new iOS 8- one of the exciting things that have come out in the tech market in just two days.
This new operating system will be loaded with most of the advanced features ever imagined on the iPhone along with a trendy user interface. So, when is iOS 8 coming for iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, and iPod Touch 5th Generation? Existing users can expect the update to roll on September 19, which is exactly 10 days after Apple introduced the iOS 8.
Which devices are compatible?
Apple had tested the new operating system for quite some time and it is believed that there were some serious issues with iPhone 4 and earlier devices. That is why the update starts from iPhone 4S and every device released after it. Of course, the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are already loaded with iOS 8.
iPod Touch 5 is also compatible with the system though there is no news for the new iPod for now. Similarly, iPad 2, iPad 3rd generation, iPad 4th generation, iPad Air, iPad Mini, and iPad Mini with Retina Display are compatible with the new operating system.
Just like any other software update, iOS 8 will flash in 'Settings' widget and the update will take a few minutes. The phone should be charged adequately prior to the update.
