'iPhone 6' Latest News: The Truth Behind Its 'Console-Quality' Graphics
If you keep abreast of the latest news about technology, particularly gaming consoles and smartphones, you're probably aware that there are several companies claiming that their products can produce console-quality graphics. Such is the case with Nvidia and Apple. As ExtremeTech has cited, Nvidia is the first company to claim that its mobile GPUs have graphics comparable to the Xbox 360. Apple, on the other hand, said that its iPhone 5 will also feature console-quality graphics.
Now that the iPhone 6 has been unveiled, another claim has been made about its graphics. As ExtremeTech and TechInvestorNews reported, EA Head of Mobile Division Frank Gibeau said this latest product from Apple has an improved processor that can generate graphics comparable to the Sony PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
Now, the question is, are these claims true? You are probably doubting the claim on iPhone 6 after all the statements made about other smartphones and devices. Yes, it's true that the iPhone 6 boasts impressive graphics and it does have great features. However, Gibeau's statement that this smartphone is at par with gaming consoles is a bit of a stretch.
If we were to take into consideration the power of both gaming consoles, which, according to ExtremeTech - is 10 times greater than the Apple iPhone 6, you will realize that the said smartphone cannot be compared with the Xbox One and Ps4.
The only possible reason that Gibeau may have said such a thing is that the iPhone 6 has the capability to render games at 1080p resolution - something that the Sony PlayStation 4 is designed to do.
