Miley Cyrus to Face Possible Jail Time After Using the Mexican Flag to Spank Herself During Concert
The young singer is in hot water after the dancers used the Mexican flag, to spank her, during her concert. Miley Cyrus is reportedly facing possible jail time for "desecrating the Mexican flag." The concert is part of her Bangerz international tour.
The incident happened while Cyrus was performing in Monterrey, Mexico and it coincided with the celebration of the Mexican Independence Day.
While some fans cheered on Miley Cyrus while she was doing the stunt, other Mexican officials were offended and are "super sensitive about disrespecting national symbols so the congress of the state of Nuevo Leon wants her prosecuted," TMZ reports. If convicted, Cyrus will have to pay $1200 in fine and 36 hours in jail.
The Dominican Republic has already taken steps against the singer and her Bangerz tour. They banned her September 13 concert in the country.
This is not the first time that the singer's Bangerz tour caused some controversies. In United Kingdom, parents complained that the show has too much sexual content and has many reference to drug use.
But Cyrus seems to be taking this lightly. The Mexican leg of the Bangerz tour is going to end on Sunday. She posted a picture of herself in a bikini. Miley also posted several pictures of herself during the concert.
Bangerz next stop is in South America at the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brazil on September 24. Fans are waiting what she's going to do next.
Aside from complaints that her show is too sexual and raunchy, the Wrecking Ball singer recently caused a stir, when she stated that social media can cause more damage to people's brain than recreational drug use.
Many believed that the singer is actually affected by the split between her and Liam Hemsworth. The two were engaged at the time.
