Eric Campbell Wins Best Gospel and/or Inspirational Song at the 2014 Soul Train Awards

Gospel music artist and one half of Mary Mary, Erica Campbell is to be congratulated for taking home the Best Gospel and/or Inspirational Song award at the Soul Train awards in Las Vegas on Sunday. Campbell won the category for her number one single "Help" featuring Gospel rapper Lecrae.
"Help" not only took the number one spot on Billboard's Gospel album chart, the title track "Help" is also a highlight. The single "Help," which features a rap section by Lecrae, reminds us of "Shackles (Praise You)" with its indelible and distinguishable hooks.
Writing on Instagram, Campbell thanks Lecrae: "@lecrae thanks so much for blessing this song with your lyrics. #Help #soultrainawards2014 #wewon Thanks Brother!!"
Campbell, who continues to succeed with her music even as a solo artist, previously spoke about her desire to touch people with her debut solo album which was released in March. On this record, for instance, we get hit at the heart again as to what prayer is ("Help"), we get to ponder anew about the Cross ("The Question") and we get to gasp again at God's creation ("I'm a Fan"). Though "Help" is her solo debut, Campbell is by no means a new kid on the block. She and her sister Tina were part of the multi-award winning duo Mary Mary. Just as Alicia Keys pushed the boundaries of R&B, Mary Mary demolished all the scaffolds surrounding Gospel Music.
"I am really hoping it reaches the unchurched people," said Campbell. "I'm so grateful for the believers who support and listen but I'm so excited for the people who are learning about Jesus through my music. Wanting to know who he is because of my music. That is just such a huge blessing."
In May Campbell co-hosted the McDonald's Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour, which supports Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
