'Hannibal Season 3' Latest News: Gillian Anderson, Now A 'Hannibal' Series Regular And Other Updates

Great news for Hannibal fans out there. Two familiar faces are going to reprise their role in Hannibal Season 3. It was announced that Laurence Fishburne is returning as Jack Crawford while Gillian Anderson will continue to portray Bedelia du Maurier, Hannibal Lecter's shrink in the series. Her character appeared a couple of times in the series but in Hannibal Season 3, her character is going to be explored. Hence, Anderson will become a series regular. 

Creator Bryan Fuller said the exploration of du Maurier's character will happen during the first half of the season adding, "There's a whole Bedelia/Hannibal arc that I'm very excited about." He further told TV Line, "The cast and crew of Hannibal are positively giddy to be welcoming Gillian to Season 3 as a series regular."

Hannibal Season 3 is going to start one year after Lecter and Dr. du Maurier were seen together going to Europe. The new series will show their "new life" in Europe and it is safe to assume that we will see Dr. Bedelia du Maurier in a different light. Maybe we can even see her past relationship with Hannibal Lecter.

Hannibal Season 3 is  expected to be different from season 1 and season 2. Of course, the main characters are in Europe now and we cannot wait to see how it will turn out. Sources revealed that in the new season, Lecter and du Maurier will "pose as married couple." This charade will happen as Lecter hunts for new victims. The twist in the story will come after someone finds out who the real Hannibal Lecter is.

Hannibal Season 3 will be packed with mysteries which will intensify your urge for answers. There is no exact date yet as to when the new season will start in 2015.
